Here are 7 fat loss tips to lose fat faster - or to not make the process unnecessarily long

  1. Make sure you're actually 100% adherent. Audit any calories consumed that are not currently being accounted for. You may be tracking accurately most of the time but missing some calories occasionally, and you will hit a plateau. Know how much you’re consuming, what’s your estimated deficit, and calculate roughly how long you will be dieting for (500 calories day for 7 days will tally up to 1 lb lost).

  1. Once you find a structure that works, stop seeking novelty. Don’t change anything just because you’re bored. Everything else you do after the point you find a good routine may undo what’s working for you. Decision fatigue is still fatigue which ultimately affects adherence. Don’t fix it if it’s not broken.

  1. Accuracy and simplicity. The best way to guarantee that you’ll see the results you want is to reduce muddied data. Make the deficit so easily measured so that failure is impossible. Choose simple foods and similar meals every day, train at the same times, have a daily and nightly routine.

  1. If you feel like you are “always in a deficit” without ever seeing the return, identify the bottlenecks and mitigate them before beginning the diet. Is it your lifestyle, work, family, time-management? It’s easier to handle problems before you begin than after. Diffuse as much as you can before you start.

  1. Only begin the diet when you can COMMIT to being in a DEFICIT. Being in a deficit is the pre-condition to losing fat. For most, this means feeling hungry to some extent. If simply being in a deficit on a consistent basis is too much of an ask, then hold off. You'll still accrue dietary fatigue whether you lose weight or not. Make it worth it.

  1. A deficit happens before you see the physical changes. The physical changes happen after. Be patient. If you're not losing weight, and the data is accurate, you may not be in a deficit.

  1. Hunger shock isn’t a sign you're doing something wrong. This is a common and expected outcome of eating in a deficit.

I hope you find this helpful.

P.S. - The better your adherence is, the more concerns you can resolve ahead of time. This will make it easier for you to lose fat faster.
